Pink Buffalo Spores!
Comes with 10cc of Pink Buffalo spores, an 18g needle to get your spores onto the slides, and an alcohol wipe so you can ensure that your microscope is super clean.
Here’s one that’s a bit easier to write about because everyone knows where they came from! Pink Buffalo spores were originally found by a John Allen (who must’ve had a rad job because all he seems to have done is find loads of cool magic mushrooms) over in Thailand. Buffalo are pretty popular over that way, and so obviously where there’s Buffalo, there’s shit. The fella’s strolling through a rice paddy, and spots some likely-looking mushrooms growing out of some Buffalo shit, and the rest is history! Maybe one day I’ll just go walking about in warm countries trying to find magic mushrooms, seems like a nice way to spend your time.
Thailand is incredible! I remember reading the book “The Beach” as a teen, and wanting to go there (as I’m sure everyone did). Alex Garland described it in a way that really appealed to me, especially Khao San Road, so years later after a particularly gnarly relationship breakup, I moved back home and saved up a couple of grand and then booked a ticket out there. I was not disappointed. Bangkok’s still one of my favourite cities (mainly because it’s mental), and I got to see loads of cool stuff, had plenty of fun, and even survived a motorbike crash caused by me being absolutely shitfaced in the middle of a snake-infested jungle. Beautiful country, really nice people, for the most part. I would highly recommend it. Also they’re pretty cool about actual magic mushrooms over there, so I guess they don’t have to just collect the spores like the rest of us.
Ideally, keep these Pink Buffalo spores refrigerated, where they will happily last a couple of years. Magic mushroom spores are tough like that – don’t let them freeze though! Failing that, you can keep them in a nice dark cupboard where they’ll be just fine for at least six months. They’re pretty simple to store. You can even use them multiple times, just replace the needle cap back on (don’t remove the needle as that’s one more chance for contaminants to get in there), and the next time you go to use them, heat the needle up with a lighter until it glows red. Simple! You could even put them back into the supplied bag if that’s your jam.
These Pink Buffalo spore syringes have been produced in the UK using a flowhood in order to make sure that what you see under the microscope is exactly what’s supposed to be there and nothing else – just premium Pink Buffalo spores!
Handy dos and don’ts:
DO:
- Keep it somewhere cool and dark, it’ll keep for 6 months+
- Keep it in the fridge maybe, it’ll last for years there
- Enjoy microscopy, it’s a great hobby
- Read/watch a variety of microscopy techniques across sites like Reddit and YouTube, knowledge is power
- Be really clean when you’re handling it, it’s critical
DON’T:
- Drink it. You can, it won’t hurt you, it’s just very expensive pop at that point
- Try and grow anything with it, unless you live somewhere where that is legal
- Store it anywhere dusty, dirty, or hot
- Try and do your microscopy in a drafty, dusty room
