What’s been happening lately at OTC Manor?
Yo! How’s it going? Good, I hope. So what’s been going on for me lately, I hear you all ask, ears a-twitchin’? Here’s the HOT GOSS that you simply WON’T GET from TMZ or other equally-reputable internet websites:
MycoPunks Podcast
Actually this one shoulda been in TMZ because both the dudes involved should be famous for services to "being radical". That’s right – we finally made time in our busy schedules to chat some shit about the mycology world in general, and our slightly odd businesses. It’s about an hour long which means if you listen to it at work you can basically wipe 1/8th of your day off – awesome!
Check it out, my lovely friend Christopher MycoPunks and I will thrill you with finely-crafted tales of adventure, intrigue, and derring-do. Not really. It’s two beardy nerds talking about psychedelic stuff but if you’re into that, then it’s apparently “not bad I suppose” (thanks Mum). Topics include such highlights as “me talking about cum again”, “how did we start up our companies”, “what is some good advice for new guys” and other bits like that. You can have a listen to it on a variety of fine internet places, such as YouTube or Spotify! Let us know what you think! It’s Chris’ podcast, but I’m basically gonna hassle him until he lets me go on there again because I had fun.
New stock!
Yup. So far I’ve got 21 different phenotypes available regularly (some might come and go out of stock but they’re mostly always ready). I am gonna be expanding this slightly with some new spore syringes – everyone loves the classics like Golden Teacher or B+, for example, but it’s nice to have some new bits to play with. These new bits will be: Mars, Acadian Coast, Aztec, Pink Buffalo, and Xico!
This, if you are good at counting, will bring things up to a staggering 26 different types of magic mushroom spores – pretty good, huh? Obviously this means a lot more work on my end, but that’s cool, I’ve now got a bit of extra help as well so it should be business as usual. Like I said at the start of the year, I’m going to be expanding a bit this year, and that’s exactly what I’ve done. I’m planning to have these up by the end of April at the very latest so watch this space!
Moving house
I am going to be moving house soon, and that, brilliantly, is going to mean I get a bigger lab space to work with. This should again speed things up a bit, and allow me to create a lot more spore syringes in one go. Storage space for spores is at a bit of a premium here – this should ease that bottleneck a little. More flowhoods, more pressure cookers – just more stuff. It’s also gonna allow me to finally get the Orangutan Trading Co hoodies ready for the winter without having to relegate my son to sleeping in the shed because his room is all full of merch. He’s pleased.
Some heartfelt thanks
I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating – to all of you who support my rather niche business: thank you, so much. Not only does it keep food on my table, but it enables me to donate thousands to feeding hungry people and making sure underprivileged kids have presents at Christmas and that is literally the best thing I could ever be doing. This year I’m going to be doing even more charity related stuff too; Orangutan Trading Co is a force for good. Mycology can do a lot of positive things, even for people that don’t go near mushrooms!
