Panama Spores!
Comes with 10cc of Panama spores, an 18g needle to get your spores onto the slides, and an alcohol wipe so you can ensure that your microscope is super clean.
Well there’s virtually no information available about these online, other than “they come from Panama” (yeah thanks), but once again it’s a similar climate to Florida so yup, makes sense. It’s a P cubensis, it’s got the usual good stuff that everyone’s favourite easy-to-cultivate magic mushroom tends to have, so yeah, on the whole it’s a decent choice if you’d like to collect a new bit of genetics for your library. What’s fuckin’ great about Panama is that despite that sort of hat being absolutely fuckin’ wrecked by all the incels making a big deal out of wearing Trilby hats, somehow the good name of the Panama hat hasn’t been as thoroughly tainted as a Trilby. I’m not saying you should wear one, I’m just saying that if you did you’d likely get mocked less than if you were wearing a Trilby. Obviously context is king, so it’s probably very different if you’re wearing one in a nice sunny country (which Panama is) as opposed to your local Wetherspoon pub on a Friday night.
Just in case anyone with as many brainworms as me ends up reading this: yes, you are right, a Trilby is a style of hat, with the shape defining it, and a Panama just needs to be made of a specific material, so yes, you could have a Panama Trilby. No-one who was wearing a Trilby during those awful few years was doing that though, I’m fairly sure. To be honest (and at the same time who am I to be the judge of what you wanna wear?), you’ve gotta be a very well-dressed man to pull off a statement hat like that and not look like you’re doing some kind of colonial cosplay so probably best to leave it all alone unless you’re very certain you’re that person. Or maybe you’ve just scoffed enough Panama mushrooms and you don’t care. Either one is fine.
Ideally, keep these Panama spores refrigerated, where they will happily last a couple of years. Magic mushroom spores are tough like that – don’t let them freeze though! Failing that, you can keep them in a nice dark cupboard where they’ll be just fine for at least six months. They’re pretty simple to store. You can even use them multiple times, just replace the needle cap back on (don’t remove the needle as that’s one more chance for contaminants to get in there), and the next time you go to use them, heat the needle up with a lighter until it glows red. Simple! You could even put them back into the supplied bag if that’s your jam.
These Panama spore syringes have been produced in the UK using a flowhood in order to make sure that what you see under the microscope is exactly what’s supposed to be there and nothing else – just premium Panama spores!
Handy dos and don’ts:
DO:
- Keep it somewhere cool and dark, it’ll keep for 6 months+
- Keep it in the fridge maybe, it’ll last for years there
- Enjoy microscopy, it’s a great hobby
- Read/watch a variety of microscopy techniques across sites like Reddit and YouTube, knowledge is power
- Be really clean when you’re handling it, it’s critical
DON’T:
- Drink it. You can, it won’t hurt you, it’s just very expensive pop at that point
- Try and grow anything with it, unless you live somewhere where that is legal
- Store it anywhere dusty, dirty, or hot
- Try and do your microscopy in a drafty, dusty room
