Description

Aztec Spores!

Comes with 10cc of Aztec spores, an 18g needle to get your spores onto the slides, and an alcohol wipe so you can ensure that your microscope is super clean.

These spores of mine have even been featured in the Sunday Mirror!

The Ancient Aztecs (based in what is now Mexico) used to apparently get up to all sorts of stuff that would be considered a bit mental these days, like sacrificing loads of poor people in the misguided belief it would make their society run properly… hang on a minute, that sounds remarkably familiar! Nevertheless, they did have some cool ideas too, and were fans of psychedelics and chocolate which is a pretty cool mash-up of tastes. They had compulsory schooling, but also liked to kill around 20,000 people a year. In conclusion it was a land of contrasts.

The spores are pretty darned ace though, so I’m going in with a “separate the art from the artist” kinda vibe. I’m literally 100% certain collecting these spores won’t make you eat chocolate or cut anyone’s heart out to sacrifice to the Sun God, so we’ll call that a cast-iron guarantee.

Ideally, keep these Aztec spores refrigerated, where they will happily last a couple of years. Magic mushroom spores are tough like that – don’t let them freeze though! Failing that, you can keep them in a nice dark cupboard where they’ll be just fine for at least six months. They’re pretty simple to store. You can even use them multiple times, just replace the needle cap back on (don’t remove the needle as that’s one more chance for contaminants to get in there), and the next time you go to use them, heat the needle up with a lighter until it glows red. Simple! You could even put them back into the supplied bag if that’s your jam.

These Aztec spore syringes have been produced in the UK using a flowhood in order to make sure that what you see under the microscope is exactly what’s supposed to be there and nothing else – just premium Aztec spores!

Handy dos and don’ts:

DO:

  • Keep it somewhere cool and dark, it’ll keep for 6 months+
  • Keep it in the fridge maybe, it’ll last for years there
  • Enjoy microscopy, it’s a great hobby
  • Read/watch a variety of microscopy techniques across sites like Reddit and YouTube, knowledge is power
  • Be really clean when you’re handling it, it’s critical

DON’T:

  • Drink it. You can, it won’t hurt you, it’s just very expensive pop at that point
  • Try and grow anything with it, unless you live somewhere where that is legal
  • Store it anywhere dusty, dirty, or hot
  • Try and do your microscopy in a drafty, dusty room

History
The Actec culture only killed those, who wanted to die because of illness, diseases, toothache and continuous pains what they could not handle anymore. It has been proven. They were not that bad at all beside the chocolate making.

Fascinating variety of spores. Great packaging. Friendly team to talk to. I look forward to checking out some more unusual fungi spawn. Ever since I was in school & had to write an essay on how life started, I've been obsessed with spores. I went with panspermia, as my theory of the beginning of life on earth. I keep studying. Good to have found a great company to source from. I will use you guys again.
